Where Your Data is Sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Subscriber or Membership Data may be sent through secure, encrypted links when we back up our website and email servers. Our email servers are hosted by a New Zealand based related third party, who comply with all security and privacy requirements both in New Zealand and overseas. However, please be aware that with ALL digital services that companies must comply with global cross border privacy rules. This makes it a challenge for organisations and individuals to keep up-to-date with; however, we do our best to provide members of KESWiN Academy with information and education to understand why and how to protect their data as much as possible.

Internet Use

While we take reasonable steps to maintain secure Internet connections, if you provide us with personal information over the Internet, the provision of that information is at your own risk.

If you post your personal information on the website’s blog or community forum, you acknowledge and agree that the information you post is publicly available. This includes when you post inside our secure members only area.

If you follow a link on our website to another site, the owner of that site will have its own privacy policy relating to your personal information. We suggest you review that site’s privacy policy before you provide personal information.

Website Analytics

Most Internet based businesses use analytics to track how their websites are being used, including where traffic comes from, how users interact with content and what actions they take on the pages and other elements on the website. This helps site owners analyse and decide how to improve their services to visitors and users.

Because we are user privacy focused, we have chosen NOT to use the industry standard Google Analytics which not only uses cookies to collect and track visitor data, but also is hosted remotely on their servers. Part of the terms of service with Google Analytics requires the user to sign away their website visitors and users rights to privacy. This is so Google can use this information to build digital footprints and then advertise to the consumers they are tracking.

Therefore we have chosen to use privacy focused website analytics software, Matomo, which is hosted on-premise (i.e. on our website servers).  So yes, we are tracking how our website is being used like most other online businesses. However, Matomo is cookieless and protects user privacy.  We won’t ever share any data we collect, and you can rest assured that your information is safe with us.

That said, if you prefer to opt out of tracking, please uncheck the box below

You may choose to prevent this website from aggregating and analyzing the actions you take here. Doing so will protect your privacy, but will also prevent the owner from learning from your actions and creating a better experience for you and other users.
